One Box Covers Most Everyday Cutting Jobs
The set includes:
- 8-inch chef knife
- 8-inch bread knife
- 8-inch slicing knife
- 5-inch utility knife
- 3.5-inch paring knife
- Six 4.5-inch steak knives
- Storage block with built-in sharpener
That gives you a useful mix for everything from chopping vegetables and slicing bread to carving cooked meat and setting the table for dinner.
For a first apartment, kitchen reset, or replacement for a mismatched drawer full of old knives, it covers a lot of ground without requiring several separate purchases.
The Chef Knife Handles the Daily Prep
The 8-inch chef knife is likely to do most of the work.
It can cover common tasks such as:
- Chopping vegetables
- Dicing onions
- Slicing meat
- Cutting herbs
- General meal prep
The utility and paring knives then give you smaller options when a full-size chef knife feels like too much.
Together, those three sizes handle most of the everyday cutting jobs that come up during a normal week of cooking.
Dedicated Bread and Slicing Knives Add More Range
Instead of making the chef knife do absolutely everything, the set includes dedicated 8-inch bread and slicing knives.
The bread knife gives you a serrated option for loaves, rolls, and other foods with a firm exterior and softer center.
The slicing knife gives you a longer blade for cooked meats and larger foods where cleaner, longer cuts are useful.
That makes the set more complete than a basic block that only gives you several similar-looking knives.
Six Steak Knives Are Included
The six matching steak knives are a big part of the value.
You don’t need to buy a separate table set later, and six pieces are enough for a typical family dinner or small gathering.
They can be used for:
- Steak
- Pork chops
- Chicken
- Other cooked meats
- Everyday table service
For someone outfitting a kitchen from scratch, having prep knives and table knives in the same $19.99 set is especially convenient.
The Sharpener Is Built Into the Block
The storage block also includes an integrated sharpener.
That keeps the basic maintenance tool right where the knives already live instead of adding another gadget to a drawer.
When compatible straight-edge blades need a touch-up, you can use the built-in sharpener according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
The block also gives every knife a dedicated place instead of leaving loose blades mixed into a utensil drawer.
Dishwasher-Safe Cleaning Is Listed
HENKELIVING lists the knives as dishwasher safe.
That can make cleanup easier for households that don’t want every knife to become a hand-wash-only item.
As with most kitchen knives, drying them promptly and following the manufacturer’s care directions can help preserve the finish and edge over time.
A Good Fit for First Kitchens and Replacements
This kind of set makes a lot of sense when you need several knives at once.
Possible uses include:
- First apartments
- New homes
- College apartments
- Rental properties
- Vacation homes
- Guest kitchens
- Replacing an old knife block
- Housewarming gifts
At under $20, it’s much easier to justify than piecing together a similar assortment individually.
More Than 300 Amazon Reviews
The set currently carries a 4.7-star average from more than 300 Amazon reviews.
Buyers frequently mention the sharpness, overall value, and convenience of the built-in sharpener.
For a set priced below $20, that gives shoppers a decent amount of feedback to look through before ordering.
